Today I took a fictional trip to France.
I love writing about places I’ve visited. It gives me a reason to relive my visit, look at holiday pictures and reread my diary entries from that time. Every time I visit an unfamiliar place, I try to gather as many impressions as I can because you never know which place may play a role in one of your stories. A few, well-chosen details will do a better job at establishing the locale of your story than page after page of description.
